A parent or guardian should check their email account for an email with the subject: CTY Account Activation Email. This email contains activation instructions, your K12 username, and temporary password.


Please follow these steps to activate your student’s Johns Hopkins K12 email account:

  1. Visit http://office.com
  2. Enter your full email address (ex: username@k12.jh.edu) and click "Sign In"
  3. Enter your temporary password
    1. Please type this password exactly as it is shown in the email. If you copy/paste the password from the activation email an extra space is usually added, which can cause an error
    2. If you receive an error message, please ensure that another family member has not already activated the account
  4. Re-enter your temporary password as your “current password” and select a new password.
  5. Click "Sign In" to be directed to your new Office 365 account

If you have forgotten the password previously set, go to office.com and enter the student’s CTY K12 email address. Then click “Forgot my password” and follow the prompts to password recovery.
